Yield: 10 inch Taco Pie

Equipment:

10 inch cast iron pan

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Bake Time: 30-35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 10-inch tortillas
  • 1 ½ lbs. of ground beef
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ packets of taco seasoning
  • ½ cup nacho cheese
  • 15.5 ounce can black beans
  • ¾ cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded mexican cheese
  • Toppings
  • Pico de gallo
  • Cilantro
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Sour Cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large saucepan add the ground beef, chopped onion and minced garlic. Heat over medium heat and let the beef cook all the way through, stirring every few minutes.
  1. Strain the meat slightly once fully cooked and you see no pink left.
  2. Add the taco seasoning to the pan and stir together, coating all the beef and onions. Set aside.
  1. In a large cast iron lay the 10 inch tortilla in the pan.
  1. Drain a can of black beans and pour on top of the tortilla. Spread out evenly with a spoon.
  1. Scoop spoonfuls of the nacho cheese on top of the beans, spreading an even layer on top.
  1. Pour in the ground beef mixture and spread in the pan. Place another tortilla on top.
  1. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, allowing the tortillas to cook and get a bit crunchy.
  2. Remove from the oven and layer the salsa on top of the top tortilla.
  1. Sprinkle the Mexican cheese all over the salsa and bake in the oven again for another 20 minutes, letting the cheese melt fully.
  1. Remove from the oven and top with your favorite taco toppings such as lettuce, pico de gallo and cilantro.
  2. Cut out pie like slices, serve, and enjoy!
